Vacant too long

I’ve been sleeping remarkably well during this period of Covid. Yet this past evening I returned to my old ways. Here I lay. It’s 4 am. I haven’t slept. My racing mind has been churning out (what has seemed like) brilliant thoughts all night. Which brings me to my big announcement.

It’s an announcement in the hopes that by going public with this commitment, I might actually make it a regular occurrence. For a while anyway. All things shall pass.

Covid down time allowed me to update my website, although one page still lay bare. The blog. So now, I think I’m ready. I have figured out what to write about during this last turbulent and fitful evening without sleep. Perhaps it’s not much of an idea at all and my sleep deprived brain is unaware. Be that as it may.

My first blog post (after this one) will be committed to “the pencil”. Yup. And who knows where this might lead me? I might find “the paper” is the logical next step, or perhaps I’ll really get daring and choose a sock, or a finger. Maybe it will be nothing more than a thumb tack, a scissor, a glass. I intend to honor these items. To really think about, understand and appreciate the part they play in our lives and the contribution they make.

We need to look on the brighter side of things these days and find reasons for joy. This will be my exploration. Here goes nothing.
